Casablanca self-identifies as a "journalist," but in reality she is an ultra-radical feminist and a political operative for Frente Amplio.
Her public trajectory is marked by promoting hatred of men and defending the most outdated ideas of the Uruguayan far left.
In 2020 the then-intendente of Montevideo, Carolina Cosse, placed her in a fabulously salaried position in the management of the capital city government channel Tv Ciudad.
From the management of the channel she turned a media outlet financed with the taxes of all Montevideo residents into a channel at the service of Frente Amplio, PIT-CNT, and the relatives of the so-called "disappeared."
She has carried out smear campaigns against political leaders of the Republican Coalition and against political leaders of the Lacalle Pou government, who at that time was president.
Alejandra Casablanca turned a state-owned outlet financed by everyone into a Chavista channel, where she fostered hatred and division on issues that are relevant for society.
During 2022 she carried out a smear campaign against the Shared Custody bill. This bill was finally approved by Parliament and today it is law. But the deceitful campaign organized by Casablanca from Tv Ciudad was brutal.

After Casablanca's departure, Tv Ciudad has continued to be embroiled in controversies. One of the channel's reporters, Diego Martini Lemos, was reported at the end of January 2026 for assaulting a minor with different abilities, and he is being investigated by the justice system.
