Senator Patricia Bullrich publicly denounced that opposition leaders had interfered in efforts to return Agostina Paez to the country. According to him, former president Alberto Fernández and deputy Marcela Pagano would have conditioned key contacts in exchange for public thanks, to which Agostina
refused.
Bullrich's statement came in the midst of a delicate judicial context. As reported, the Brazilian judge in charge of the case changed his position and decided toprevent Páez's immediate returnto Argentina, forcing her to remain in Brazil until the final ruling is signed, a process that could last between 15 and 20 days

According to the minister, the young woman's family is going through a time of extreme distress and their only priority is to get her back to the country. In this context, he questioned whether some political actors have tried to capitalize on the situation. As he explained, contact with the family would have been conditioned on public thanks, something that was ultimately rejected by Páez's environment

Meanwhile, the Government points out that official efforts are still ongoing through the Foreign Ministry and the Argentine consulate in Brazil. The line adopted by the administration of Javier Mile i seeks to differentiate itself from what they describe as “political operations”, prioritizing formal diplomatic work and avoiding
unnecessary media exposure.
The case also highlighted the contrast between institutional action and the intervention of political figures who, according to the official version, would have sought prominence in a sensitive situation.
