The President of the United States, Donald Trump, reaffirmed that the central objective of the military offensive in the Middle East is to prevent the Iranian regime from obtaining nuclear weapons.

The president expressed his position in a message published on his social network Truth Social, where he argued that Washington's strategic priority is to prevent Tehran from representing a global threat.

“What interests me and matters much more, as president, is to stop an evil empire, Iran, from having nuclear weapons and destroying the Middle East and, in fact, the world. I will never allow it!” , Trump wrote.

His statements come in the midst of the joint offensive that the United States is carrying out with Israel against the Iranian nuclear program.

An offensive to neutralize the nuclear threat

The military operation that began on February 28 has the stated objective of neutralizing the Iranian regime's nuclear infrastructure

.

Since then, U.S. and Israeli forces have attacked multiple strategic objectives inside Iranian territory.

Among them are facilities linked to nuclear development, such as the Natanz enrichment plant, considered one of the key centers of Tehran's

atomic program.

The Israeli army also confirmed attacks against the Parchin military complex, located on the outskirts of Tehran, associated with the former secret nuclear project known as Amad.

For Washington and Tel Aviv, these facilities were part of the infrastructure for developing nuclear weapons.

Trump recognizes the energy impact, but prioritizes global security

.

During his message, Trump also referred to the economic impact of the conflict on energy markets

.

The president stressed that the United States, as one of the world's leading oil producers, benefits when international oil prices rise.

“When oil prices rise, we make a lot of money,” he said.

However, he clarified that this factor is secondary to the main objective of preventing Iran from developing military nuclear capacity.

The conflict has an impact on energy markets

The war also generated economic consequences on a global scale

The conflict seriously affected transit through the strategic Strait of Hormuz, one of the most important energy corridors on the planet

.

Before the war, approximately one-fifth of the world's oil circulated through that waterway.

The interruption of the flow caused strong tensions in international markets.

According to estimates by the International Energy Agency, the crisis generated the biggest disturbance to the supply of oil recorded in the history of the global energy market.

Russia is trying to capitalize on the energy crisis

In parallel, Russia seeks to take advantage of the energy crisis resulting from the conflict.

Russian presidential envoy Kirill Dmitriev met with Trump administration officials in Florida to discuss the energy market situation.

During that meeting, the Russian representative said that the world is beginning to understand the key role of Russian oil and gas in stabilizing global markets.

The move reflects Moscow's attempt to use the international situation to ease the sanctions imposed on its energy sector.
