Sofía “La Reini” Gonet spoke clearly after the release of Claudio Hernán Di Carlo, the man accused of harassing her. In a conversation with the reporter from Desayuno Americano, the influencer stated that she feels calm and detailed the security measures that accompany her at this moment.
“I am calm, I have a panic button, I have police protection constantly in my entire block, so I am fine. I feel calm because I have a lot of protection around me,” she explained. With those words, she made it clear that, despite the situation, she has a permanent protection scheme.
Gonet also referred to the need for the aggressor, who also allegedly harassed Homero Pettinato, to receive professional assistance. “I hope he is under treatment because he is a person who needs to be medicated, because I believe he is not in this reality directly,” she stated emphatically.
The way she learned about the release also caused an impact. It was not the Justice system that notified her: she found out through Instagram when a follower sent her photos showing the man in Junín and confirmed that he was posting stories again, although no longer with content related to her.
A call to care for mental health
The influencer insisted that the central issue now is for the police to guarantee the safety of all those involved and that an episode like the one that occurred in OLGA does not happen again. “I believe that what is important here is obviously for the police to ensure our safety and obviously that the episode of what happened in OLGA does not happen again,” she maintained.
Far from pointing fingers at the Judiciary, Sofía focused on a deeper problem. “For me, everything is a reflection of the little attention given to mental health in this country,” she stated. She added that there should be other types of laws and greater attention to this issue.
“The alarm that sounds for me in all this is that, how important it is to take care of one’s psyche, because that is the most important thing in the end, and for me this is a clear case of mental health,” she emphasized. With those words, she turned her personal experience into a broader reflection on the importance of addressing mental disorders.
Finally, she described the scenario she considers ideal: that everyone is well, that Homero Pettinato is not at risk, that the police take all necessary measures now that the man has regained his freedom, and that he receives the treatment he needs. “That seems the most logical to me,” she concluded.
With her testimony, Sofía Gonet not only spoke about her own safety but also insisted on the urgency of addressing mental health seriously, both for victims and for those who create situations of harassment and violence.
