They demand the dismissal of Juan Piscetta, the union delegate at Infobae linked to the Russian disinformation network

In the framework of the investigation that exposed a disinformation network organized from Russia to influence Argentine politics, of which numerous Argentine media were part

, the person responsible for the notes uploaded to Infobae became known.

However, this is a particular case, since Infobae was unaware of this fact, which was carried out by a left-wing trade unionist who was part of its internal structure, which sparked a strong demand among the editorial staff.

The person in charge is Juan Pablo Piscetta, member of the media's Internal Trade Commission and secretary of the far-left Buenos Aires Press Union (SIPreBA).

As it transpired, Piscetta published on the portal two articles funded by the Russian disinformation network, in the context of operations aimed at destabilizing the government of Javier Milei, through the creation and dissemination of false news and the support of opposition candidates.

These publications were part of the paid content scheme used to install critical narratives against the libertarian administration and for the

interests of the Kremlin.

For these notes, Piscetta received a total amount close to 1000 dollars, in line with the values managed by the international structure for inserting articles in other media.

Within Infobae, the situation generated strong unrest. The media management was not aware of these maneuvers or that content financed by a foreign network had been published

After the confirmation of these facts, journalists from the media outlet have launched a direct demand that Piscetta be removed from office. In particular, they ask for their lawlessness and immediate dismissal, since their actions compromise the credibility of the environment and constitute a serious violation of

professional ethics.

However, the situation presents a legal obstacle. In his role as union delegate, Piscetta has union privileges that prevent

his direct dismissal.

The case adds to the revelations about the Russian disinformation network that operates in Argentina through the systematic publication of paid content, including fake news and opinion columns, in different digital

media.

The Russian disinformation network

The investigation confirmed that a structure linked to the Russian government deployed a coordinated disinformation operation in Argentina since 2024, with the objective of influencing public opinion, amplifying polarization and weakening the government of

Javier Milei.

The scheme was based on the publication of at least 250 paid articles in more than 20 media, with content critical to the economic plan and foreign policy of the ruling party, including messages favorable to Russia and against the United States.

Among the media where these contents were broadcast are C5N, Ámbito, Diario Con Vos, El Destape, Big Bang News, Registered Diario, A24, Realpolitik, Argentine Politics, Tiempo Argentino, Grito del Sur, El Cronista, Infocielo, Data Clave, among others.

In addition, the operation used false identities generated with artificial intelligence, such as the case of fictitious authors created to sign articles and give them the appearance of legitimacy. The maneuver consolidated a propaganda network that operated systematically within the Argentine digital ecosystem
