The Argentina U17 National Team began its preparation for the upcoming World Cup in the category with a victory. The team led by Diego Placente won 2-1 against Ecuador in a friendly match held this Tuesday at the Lanús stadium, without fans or media presence.

The albiceleste team managed to secure the win thanks to goals from Benjamín Vallejo and Facundo Salinas, both players from Vélez. Mateo Villanueva scored the only goal for Ecuador, who managed to get on the scoreboard.

One of the standout moments of the match was the debut of Stephen Kiki Ramos with the Argentine jersey. The young player from Vélez, born in Haiti, came on during the second half and had his first participation with the Albiceleste.

His presence became one of the most notable stories of the day, in a team that continues to test players and fine-tune details ahead of the season's main objective: the U17 World Cup.

For the first friendly against the Ecuadorian team, Placente opted for a lineup consisting of Valentín Reigia from Argentinos Juniors; Thiago Pérez from Huracán; Álvaro Güich from Rosario Central; Mateo Mendizabal from Banfield; and Alex Cardozo from Lanús.

In midfield were Galo Escobar from River; Benjamín Vallejo; Marcos Ortiz from Belgrano; and Juan Cruz Policella from Vélez. The offensive duo was made up of Facundo Salinas and Tobías Goytía, both linked to River.
