The relationship between River Plate and the AFA is at a moment of maximum tension. The questions raised by the club's president, Stefano Di Carlo, regarding the latest refereeing decisions were compounded by a post from Claudio Tapia that caused discomfort in Núñez and was interpreted as a new gesture of confrontation.

Di Carlo was emphatic during a press conference when referring to the refereeing decisions that, in his view, harmed the Millonario in the last matches. The official stated that there is a “manipulation of all kinds and colors” and maintained that the institution's patience has reached its limit.

“River has been harmed in the last matches, it is evident. All the fans see the same thing: there is manipulation of all kinds and colors towards everyone. There are things that cannot be accepted and are wrong. River's tolerance is exhausted, River's dignity is not negotiable,” he asserted.

The president of River also questioned the actions of the referees and issued a strong warning about the situation the club is facing. He stated that the institution will continue to demand until certain situations find “a limit in terms of shame.”

The post by Claudio Tapia that once again confronted River and the AFA

In the midst of this atmosphere, Claudio Tapia made a post on social media that generated new criticism from the River Plate environment.

The president of the AFA shared images related to the recognition that different clubs made to the Argentine National Team in recent weeks. However, the detail that caught attention was River's absence among the institutions shown.

The gesture provoked discomfort due to the historical close bond between the Millonario and the National Team, in addition to the presence of several world champions in the current squad led by Eduardo Coudet.

The controversy escalated because Boca appeared twice within the post, while River was not included. In Núñez, they interpreted the fact as another episode in a relationship that has been deteriorating.

Marcos Acuña joined the controversy

The controversy had a new chapter this Wednesday, when Marcos Acuña made a particular post on his social media.

The River defender shared an image in which the Millonario squad appears alongside a thank-you sign for the Argentine National Team. However, in the photograph, the sign was upside down on the ground, a detail that quickly caught the attention of the fans.
