Considered one of the most successful models of her generation and one of the most recognized figures in the fashion industry, Cara Delevingne surprised the public with a series of confessions about the most difficult years of her life.
During an interview on the podcast Call Her Daddy, hosted by Alex Cooper, the British actress spoke openly about her addiction issues, her mental health, and some decisions she made during her adolescence, including drug dealing.
The statements quickly generated a stir in British media and social networks due to the rawness with which she recounted episodes from her youth.
The successful actress spoke about the harsh reality she experienced.
How her relationship with drugs began
Delevingne explained that her first contact with drugs occurred when she was just 14 years old.
"When I started using drugs, I was looking to connect with others and felt like I was finding myself", she recalled.
The actress stated that, at that time, she associated drug use with the possibility of feeling integrated and building social bonds.
"I loved having fun and dancing, and I thought: 'Oh, I really like this person. This is great'", she recounted.
Over time, that relationship with substances deepened and ultimately led her to engage in activities that she now views from a different perspective.
Currently, Cara is one of the most recognized models internationally.
One of the most talked-about moments of the interview came when she acknowledged that she bought drugs to sell them and fund her own use. "I started buying drugs at a pretty young age to sell and use them", she confessed.
The model explained that the economic situation at that time influenced that decision. "When I bought the drugs to sell, I processed them all myself. Well, not all of them. I sold half and used the rest", she shared.
She even allowed herself to joke about that stage of her life. "So basically, I was trafficking drugs for free. I wasn't a big drug dealer", she commented.
