The journalist passed away in Buenos Aires after more than five decades of work in print, radio, and television
Among his works were investigations into the con artist Ricardo Gil Lecha and the autopsy of the alleged extraterrestrial from Roswell.
His career also included radio work at La Red, Continental, Radio 10, Radio Rivadavia, and La 100. Additionally, he participated in the creation of digital portals such as Minuto Uno, Infoveloz, and Rating Cero.
Chiche Gelblung died at the age of 82 at the Mater Dei Sanatorium, in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo. The journalist had been hospitalized on Tuesday due to a respiratory condition.
The news was confirmed by his family. Gelblung had a career spanning more than five decades in print, radio, and television, with an extensive career in Argentine media.

According to Infobae, this was the fourth hospitalization he underwent this year. Despite his health issues, the journalist continued working until his last days.
Born in Buenos Aires in 1944, Gelblung became a central figure in Argentine journalism. His career spanned print media, radio, and television.
He also directed magazines such as Gente and La Semana. Later, he established himself on television with programs like Memoria, aired on Canal 9.
During the 90s, Chiche Gelblung solidified his status as a figure in television journalism. His program Memoria was noted for investigations and formats that combined various narrative resources.
In his final years, Gelblung continued to lead his program on Crónica TV. He also conducted international coverage in conflict zones.
In 2022, he traveled to Ukraine to cover the war when he was 79 years old. Throughout his career, he had also worked on coverage of Vietnam, Biafra, and Yom Kippur.
His journalistic activity continued until his last days, despite the various hospitalizations he underwent during 2026.
Gelblung had spoken publicly about various health issues. In 2020, he experienced a sepsis and pneumonia episode.
He also had episodes of renal failure during 2023 and 2024, in addition to successive hospitalizations at the Mater Dei Sanatorium.
In one of his last reflections on the passage of time, he stated: “I approach my day as if I were going to live 200 years”.
