The search for Agostina Vega had the worst possible outcome. The 14-year-old teenager, who had been intensely searched for over a week in Córdoba, was found murdered this Saturday in an open field in the Ampliación Ferreyra neighborhood, in a case that shocked the entire province.
The discovery occurred after several days of searches led by prosecutor Raúl Garzón and specialized teams from the Judicial Police and the Scientific Police. The operations focused on a hard-to-access area where remains believed to be those of the minor were finally found.
According to reports in the early hours of the investigation, the body was allegedly found inside a paint bucket and wrapped in bags. Additionally, authorities are investigating the possibility that it was dismembered, a detail that further increased the impact of the case.

The discovery that ended a week of uncertainty
Agostina's disappearance had generated deep concern among family, neighbors, and authorities. For several days, search operations were carried out at various points in the city until efforts concentrated on a property in the Ampliación Ferreyra neighborhood.
The family's lawyer, Carlos Nayi, confirmed that the body was found in one of the areas where the main judicial procedures were taking place. “Agostina was murdered; her death was violent,” the lawyer stated during a television interview.
According to the first elements gathered by the investigation, the teenager is believed to have died between Saturday night and the early hours of Sunday the 24th. “That would be the time of death,” Nayi explained.
