Eduardo Bolsonaro spoke publicly after the news of the conviction against him by the Brazilian dictatorship and denounced a serious violation of due process. Through a statement published on X, the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro claimed that he learned of the judicial decision through the press and asserted that he was never formally summoned in the manner prescribed by law.
“I am aware, once again through the press, that supposedly the STF has formed a majority to convict me of some crime that I am unaware of,” Eduardo Bolsonaro stated at the beginning of his message. He then emphasized that, so far, he has not been regularly notified and is still awaiting a summons by letter rogatory, a mechanism used in international processes when a person resides outside the country.

The Bolsonarist leader, who currently lives in the United States, pointed out the contradiction of the Brazilian Supreme Court and local media. He explained that his address in U.S. territory is publicly known, to the extent that Brazilian journalists managed to locate him, film him, and show up at his residence. “To send journalists, they know where I am; to fulfill the legal due process, they claim not to know,” he denounced.
Eduardo maintained that knowing an accusation through news reports does not replace a valid legal summons, nor the guarantees provided by Brazilian legislation and the international agreements signed by Brazil. At that point, he launched a harsh accusation against the communist supreme judge Alexandre de Moraes, a central figure in the judicial persecution against the right.
