The elimination against Boca in the quarter-finals of the Copa Argentina deepened a sports moment that had already been complicated for Racing and ultimately accelerated a decision that seemed inevitable. Juan Pablo Vojvoda met with the management and, after the meeting, the end of his tenure as coach of the Academy was defined.
On Monday afternoon, the club announced the decision through an official statement published on its social media. "Racing Club informs that, by mutual agreement, Juan Pablo Vojvoda ends his tenure as head coach of the first football team", the text begins, which also included some words of gratitude: "The institution thanks Juan Pablo and his entire coaching staff for their commitment, dedication, and professionalism demonstrated during their time at the club and lwishes them the best of success in their upcoming challenges".
According to reports, the management's assessment of the coach's work with the group was positive, but the difficult sports situation ultimately carried more weight. Currently, the Avellaneda team is in second to last place in Zone B of the Torneo Clausura with 8 points, 5 points away from the last playoff spot with 6 matches remaining, while in the Annual Table, they are in 23rd place with 29 points, 13 points away from the last qualifying spot for the Copa Sudamericana.
