The other five offices that will also complete their closure
The resolution also states that five records that had been suppressed by a previous provision of 2025 must close their operational closure. These dependencies must complete the process within the same 60-business day period
.
The list includes:
La Matanza No. 8, Buenos Aires (01178
).
Mercedes No. 1, Buenos Aires (01061/25052).
Morón No. 1, Buenos Aires (01115).
Concepción del Uruguay No. 3, Entre Ríos (08028/32003).
Rosary No. 3, Santa Fe (21015).
With this new provision, the Government is deepening the restructuring of the Automotive Records system, with a reduction in physical dependencies and a greater concentration of administrative tasks. The challenge will be to complete the transition within the established deadline and ensure that users can continue to carry out their procedures without complications
.
The National Government is moving forward with a new phase of reorganization of the automotive registration system, which includes the operational closure of 72 Automotive Registries distributed in different provinces of the country. The measure was made official this Thursday, November 5, through Resolution 538/2026 of the Ministry of Justice, signed by Minister Juan Bautista Mahiques, and establishes a deadline of
60 business days to complete the process.
The decision is part of the National Plan for Digitalization and Integral Reorganization of the Automotive Registry System, an initiative that seeks to simplify the administrative structure, concentrate functions and move towards a more efficient management scheme. Of the total number of offices reached, 67 will be eliminated by this new provision, while another five, whose elimination had already been established in 2025, must now complete their
operational closure.
The process will be carried out by the National Directorate of National Registries of Automotive Property and Property Loans (DNRPA), which must execute the closure of the dependencies and reorganize the distribution of the files and domains registered in them.
What will happen with the procedures and vehicles registered in the offices that close
One of the central points of the resolution is to guarantee the continuity of services for citizens who have pending procedures or vehicles located in the offices reached.
To do this, the DNRPA must reassign the domains and files to other records that remain in operation. The regulations establish that the receiving offices will assume the corresponding tasks, although it does not individually specify which headquarters will absorb the procedures of each registry that will
stop operating. What will happen with the procedures and the vehicles registered in the offices that close
In this way, closing the premises does not imply the removal of vehicle records or the definitive interruption of administrative procedures. The reorganization aims to concentrate those functions in a smaller structure

The measure is part of a policy of digitization, concentration and reorganization of public offices, promoted by
the Ministry of Justice.
Based on the fundamentals of the resolution, the objective is to move towards simplified, efficient and citizen-centered management schemes. The plan contemplates the abolition, concentration or reorganization of offices when appropriate to improve the provision of the service
.
In addition, the regulations expand the competencies of registries that continue to operate. These offices may register procedures related to cars, motorcycles, agricultural, road and industrial machinery and garments with registration on non-registrable movable property, provided that there is
a provision from the National Directorate.
Those in charge of offices that absorb the functions of other headquarters will keep their positions and their appointments will be extended to the new registry name.
The Ministry of Justice maintained that the concentration seeks to strengthen provision and improve conditions of care, without affecting citizens' access to procedures and services.
