The Government of Javier Milei appointed Fabián Horacio Fernández as the new Secretary of Communication and Press of the Nation, as part of the reorganization of the communication scheme of the libertarian administration.

The 35-year-old official will take over from Javier Lanari and will work in coordination with the recently appointed presidential spokesperson, Adrián Ravier.

A native of Valentín Alsina, in the Buenos Aires party of Lanús, Fernández has a significant background in communication, with experience in media, institutional management, political and corporate communication.

The extensive background of Fernández

He is a National Broadcaster graduated from the Terciary School of Radio Studies (ETER), where he studied from 2009 to 2011. During that time, he acquired tools related to oral communication, content production, and performance in radio and television, laying the foundations for his professional development.

His first steps in the labor field took place between 2011 and 2014 in local media in the party of Lanús, where he worked as a host and columnist for a newscast focused on covering the political, economic, and social agenda.

In parallel, he was the general producer and host of the television program “Industrial Scenario,” a space oriented towards analyzing productive, commercial, and business activities.

Between 2014 and 2015, he expanded his experience as a communication advisor for business entities and organizations linked to the productive sector. During that period, he collaborated with the Industrial Union of Avellaneda (UIAv), where he hosted the radio cycle “Industrial Generation” and participated in managing institutional content.

He also worked with the Argentine Federation of Bakery and Allied Workers (FAUPPA) and with the Federation of Argentine-German Associations (FAAG), strengthening his profile in institutional relations and corporate communication.

Additionally, he performed duties as an official announcer at public events, including vehicle awarding ceremonies for the Renault brand in various Buenos Aires locations, which allowed him to consolidate experience in ceremonial and hosting before diverse audiences.

A turning point in his career occurred in December 2023, when he was called to join YPF as Manager of Press and Media, following Javier Milei's presidential assumption. From that position, he took on a key role in managing the company's communication, one of the most relevant in the country in economic and strategic terms.

Over time, his area evolved into the Directorate of Media, Press, and Strategic Alliances, expanding his responsibilities. In this context, he was in charge of the relationship with national and specialized press, the dissemination of official statements, the management of institutional social media, and the coordination of the CEO's public agenda, as well as organizing events and developing links with actors in the business, cultural, and sports fields.

He also coordinated the communication teams of the companies that are part of the YPF Group, including Metrogas, YPF Luz, Mega, and Profertil, strengthening the communication articulation within the energy sector.

Fernández's appointment is part of a stage of strengthening the communication area of the Government, with the aim of consolidating a strategy aligned with the management's priorities and enhancing the dissemination of economic milestones
