The Government of Javier Milei decided to assist Bolivia following a formal request made by the administration of Rodrigo Paz, sending a Hercules C-130 aircraft from the Air Force to transport food. The measure aims to address the severe shortages affecting various cities in the neighboring country.
The announcement was made by Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno, who explained that the operation responds to a direct request from Bolivia, which will have a humanitarian character and will be financed by the Bolivian government.
“At the request of the Bolivian government, and in light of the situation that has led to shortages of food and essential goods in several cities of the neighboring country, the government of the Argentine Republic has decided to provide its assistance by sending a Hercules C-130 aircraft from the Argentine Air Force to carry out air bridges for the transportation of food,” he stated.

"The food is from the Bolivian government, which is responsible for the operational costs," clarified Milei's official.
The operation involves the launch of a strategic air bridge, coordinated by the Argentine Foreign Ministry along with the Ministry of Defense, which will allow the supply of basic products to the most affected areas. This is a rapid intervention in response to a crisis that has begun to escalate in recent months.
From Milei's government, it was emphasized that the assistance will be temporary and focused, with the aim of helping to stabilize the situation while Bolivia reorganizes its internal distribution system. In this regard, Quirno highlighted that the collaboration occurs in a context of strengthening the bilateral relationship.
The gesture also reflects the willingness of Javier Milei's administration to position Argentina as an active player in the region in the face of emergencies and humanitarian crises.

The Situation in Bolivia
Bolivia's economy is undergoing a deep crisis marked by a shortage of dollars, shortages of fuels and products, a large fiscal deficit, and stagnation in growth.
After nearly two decades of leftist governments that destroyed the country, Bolivians have now chosen a new direction under the current presidency of the right-wing Rodrigo Paz, who seeks to implement urgent pro-market reforms in light of the failure of the previous socialist economic model.
In this way, Argentina not only provides concrete assistance at a critical moment but also reinforces its regional role through a direct action aimed at alleviating the social impact of the crisis in the neighboring country.
