In the midst of the feminist crusade to defend Lindsay Clancy —the murderer who used exercise bands to strangle her three children— shortly after the incident, ordinary people decided to raise funds for the father of these children as part of an online campaign that surpassed one million dollars in donations.
Patrick Clancy lived in the coastal suburb of Duxbury, Massachusetts, with his wife, Lindsay, and their three young children —Callan, Dawson, and Cora— who ranged in age from 8 months to 5 years. One afternoon in 2023, Patrick returned from work and found his three children strangled in the basement of the family home and his wife severely injured in the yard, now paralyzed from the waist down.
In conversations with mental health professionals and a chaplain after the incident, admitting that he acted under the command of voices telling him to do so, Lindsay confessed to the brutal crime and was charged with triple infanticide. In the trial currently underway against her, her lawyers argue that she was suffering from medication-induced postpartum psychosis and should be admitted to a mental health facility.
