The Government of Javier Milei updated the Used Production Line Import Regime with the aim of promoting the modernization of the Argentine productive apparatus and improving the competitiveness of the local industry.
The measure aims to facilitate access for companies to used industrial equipment, encouraging the incorporation of technology and the generation of added value in production.
Through Decree 483/2026, the new regulation introduces changes aimed at simplifying procedures, reducing costs, and expediting access timelines to the regime, transforming it into a more efficient tool for the productive sector.

Tax Reduction
One of the central points of the measure is the reduction of the tax burden for the importation of used goods. As established, these products will only be subject to 25% of the corresponding tariffs at the time of their entry into the country.
Additionally, they will be exempt from the payment of the destination verification fee, which is currently 2%, and from the statistical fee, set at 3%.
The update also redefines the concept of production line, eliminating the previous requirement that its main component be used. From now on, the regime includes new categories, such as lines intended for electricity generation and smart warehouses, thus expanding the scope of the tool.
Regarding age, the limit for rebuilt or updated goods is extended to 30 years, with the aim of prolonging their useful life and facilitating their incorporation into the productive system. This change seeks to broaden the options available for companies when investing in equipment.

Another relevant aspect is the modification of the national integration requirement. The regulation reduces the obligation to purchase national goods from 30% to 10% of the FOB value of imported goods, which relaxes the conditions for accessing the regime and lowers entry barriers.
Furthermore, a change is introduced in the control mechanisms. The audit system is replaced by an accountability scheme managed by the companies themselves, which must present certifications conducted by qualified professionals.
This modification aims to shorten administrative times and provide greater predictability in the management of procedures.
With this set of measures, the Government seeks to facilitate the incorporation of industrial technology, improve productive efficiency, and strengthen the competitiveness of the national industry.
