The migration crisis affecting the autonomous city of Ceuta continues to generate concern among its residents. Following the massive arrival of illegal immigrants from Morocco in recent days, complaints began to spread from neighbors who claim to have been victims of thefts and robberies committed by Moroccan immigrants.

These episodes, widely shared on social media, increased the anxiety of the local population and reignited the debate about security in the city.

The complaints arose while Ceuta faces one of the highest migration pressures in recent years. In just one week, more than 1,500 people entered, a figure that overwhelmed the reception capacity and led local authorities to request the Spanish Government to declare a national emergency.

The president of the autonomous city, Juan Jesús Vivas, warned that the situation has exceeded the available resources and called for an immediate response from the State to regain control of the border.

So far, Spanish authorities have reported that they are investigating the complaints filed, although they have not released data that would allow determining the scope of these events or confirming a widespread pattern. Security forces are keeping investigations open to clarify each case and determine the corresponding responsibilities.

The dissemination of videos and posts on social media fueled concern among the residents of Ceuta. Many neighbors argue that the increase in migration pressure has deteriorated the sense of security and demand a greater police presence to protect the most affected neighborhoods. At the same time, authorities emphasized the importance of reporting crimes through official channels to facilitate investigations.

The migration crisis continues to be one of the main challenges for the city. In addition to the impact on reception services, local authorities reiterate that the situation requires greater coordination between the central Government, security forces, and the European Union to strengthen border control and manage migration flows.

As investigations into the theft complaints continue, the security operation remains active in Ceuta. The authorities' goal is to ensure the protection of the population, maintain public order, and respond to both the humanitarian challenges arising from irregular immigration and the security needs of citizens.
