The Emaús School in Morón issued a strong statement following the shooting attack that a father suffered this Thursday while taking his daughter to school. The man, who is said to be a retired police officer from the Bonaerense, was shot in the abdomen and was urgently transferred to Posadas Hospital.
In the message, the institution's authorities expressed their deep sorrow and solidarity with the affected families. They also stated that they share the concern of the entire educational community and emphasized that the safety of students, their families, and staff is a permanent priority.
The school assured that security problems in the area are neither new nor unknown to the authorities. They detailed that Emaús and the Padre Luis Foundation have made repeated complaints and requests to the Ministry of Security of the Province of Buenos Aires, the local police stations, and municipal authorities.
In the text, the institution stated that it requested concrete measures for prevention and care for the school environment. The request became known just hours after the incident, which occurred around 7:15 AM at Santiago Brian 900, between Dinamarca and El Rodeo.
The attack at the school entrance
The shooting occurred when the man was accompanying his daughter to Emaús School. According to initial reports, six armed criminals intercepted him to rob him and fired three times before fleeing. One of the shots hit him in the abdomen.
The victim was assisted by neighbors and then transported by an ambulance from SAME to Posadas Hospital, where he was admitted. One of the neighbors who helped him reported that the man remained conscious while waiting for the ambulance and was worried about his daughter, who was inside the car at the time of the attack.
After the incident, the girl was taken care of by a teacher and was brought inside the institution. The scene raised concerns among families and neighbors in the area.
The school also reported that a meeting with municipal authorities and other organizations had been agreed upon days earlier. Representatives from the educational community will participate in that meeting, aiming to reanalyze the situation and advance with new security measures.

At the end of the statement, Emaús assured that it will continue to follow up on the complaints and will insist to the authorities for responses. “Safety requires prevention, presence, and sustained management from the responsible agencies,” they emphasized.
