Cristian "Cuti" Romero could be close to starting a new chapter in his career. After a standout performance with the Argentine National Team in the 2026 World Cup, the defender has once again attracted the interest of one of the top clubs in Italy: Inter Milan.

The future of the Argentine center-back seems increasingly distant from Tottenham, the club with which he has a contract until July 2029. In this context, the Italian team is said to have taken the first steps to understand the conditions of a potential transfer.

The possibility of Romero joining Inter gained momentum after Ciro Palermo, the 28-year-old player's representative, was seen in the city of Milan alongside Vincent Casella, an intermediary with connections in the Italian football market.

The meeting between the two representatives was reportedly aimed at beginning to explore a possible agreement between Inter and the Argentine defender's camp. Although there is still no confirmed formal negotiation, the meeting fueled rumors about a potential arrival of “Cuti” in Serie A.

Another detail that increased speculation was the return to Milan of Piero Ausilio, the sporting director of Inter, last Thursday.

The presence of the executive in the city, combined with the movement of Romero's representative, could signal the start of discussions in the coming weeks. The goal would be to analyze both the conditions for the defender's departure from Tottenham and the terms of a potential contract with the Italian club.

Romero has an active contract with the English team, but his future seems to be under discussion and the player intends to close his chapter with the Spurs to take on a new sporting challenge.
