According to initial information, the model will increase both its length and wheelbase. The architecture would reference the 2.65 meters of the Volkswagen Virtus, aiming to provide a more spacious cabin and improve rear passenger space.

One of the most significant changes will be the incorporation of electrification systems. The new Volkswagen Nivus would be one of the first regional models from the brand to use the 1.5 TSI Evo2 engine with hybrid technology.
The entry-level version would feature a mild hybrid system of 48 volts. In that configuration, the turbo engine would deliver around 150 horsepower and would be paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
Above it would be a full hybrid (HEV) variant, with a combined power close to 170 HP and a DSG dual-clutch transmission with seven gears.

According to various Brazilian sources, the future Volkswagen Nivus will maintain a close relationship with the Volkswagen T-Roc sold in Europe.
