Juan Román Riquelme gave an extensive interview in which he analyzed the current situation of Boca Juniors. The president defended the signing of Sebastián Villa, explained the reasons for choosing Rodolfo Arruabarrena as coach, talked about the transfer market, and dedicated flattering words to Edinson Cavani after his departure from the club.

In the midst of the squad renewal and the works being carried out at La Bombonera, Juan Román Riquelme supported the signing of Sebastián Villa and made it clear that the management is convinced of his return.

The president stated that the Colombian forward meets the footballing conditions sought by the coaching staff and assured that his signing represents an important opportunity for the team.

In addition, he emphasized that the player's legal situation has already been resolved and questioned the criticisms he received after returning to the club. As he explained, Villa complied with the sentence imposed by the Justice and highlighted that, after his departure from Boca, he never initiated legal actions to claim financial compensation.

Another central topic was the arrival of Rodolfo Arruabarrena to the bench. Riquelme denied the rumors linking other coaches to the position and stated that Vasco was the only candidate considered by the management.

Regarding the composition of the squad, Riquelme assured that the management is satisfied with the players that make up the team, although he confirmed that they will remain attentive until the transfer window closes to take advantage of any opportunity to strengthen the squad.

The president of Xeneize also dedicated recognition to Edinson Cavani, who recently completed his cycle at Boca.

Riquelme described it as a source of pride to have had the Uruguayan forward and lamented that injuries prevented him from showcasing the level that made him one of the great figures in international football for a longer time. Nevertheless, he highlighted the professionalism of the striker and assured that his time at the club left a very positive balance.
