Federal Justice is advancing with a new phase of asset seizure in the Vialidad case and is now targeting the nearly US$5 million linked to Florencia Kirchner, which have been under investigation since the Hotesur case. The Federal Oral Court 2 is awaiting a key report from Banco Galicia to define the next steps regarding those funds, considered part of the assets subject to execution.
The case is in the hands of TOF 2, composed of Rodrigo Giménez Uriburu, Jorge Gorini, and Andrés Basso, the same court responsible for executing the sentence against Cristina Kirchner, Lázaro Báez, José López, Nelson Periotti, and other convicted individuals for fraudulent administration to the detriment of the State.
Justice seeks to repair the economic harm caused by CFK to the State
The Vialidad sentence not only involved imprisonment and a lifetime disqualification from holding public office for the convicted Cristina Kirchner but also opened the way to recover assets to cover the amount of damage caused to the State, estimated at nearly $685 billion.
In this second phase, 141 properties, 46 vehicles, and a series of assets identified by prosecutors Diego Luciani and Sergio Mola emerge. Among them are US$4,664,000 found in a safe deposit box in the name of Florencia Kirchner, US$992,134 deposited in a Banco Galicia account, and $53,280.24. According to the judicial investigation, these funds have never been consistently justified regarding their lawful origin.
The dollars had been seized in the context of Hotesur, a case investigating money laundering maneuvers linked to the asset circuit of the Kirchner family. Now, TOF 2 is awaiting specific documentation from Banco Galicia to finalize whether those funds will be incorporated into the seizure ordered in Vialidad.

All assets incorporated into the property of the convicted between May 2003 and December 2015, the period during which the fraudulent maneuver took place, can be subject to asset execution. Under this logic, Justice has also focused on the Alto Calafate hotel, the San José 1111 apartment, the residence in Río Gallegos, and the house in El Calafate, among other properties.
Cristina Kirchner and her children are trying to halt the process before the Supreme Court, but in Comodoro Py, they maintain that this filing does not suspend the execution already ratified by the Court of Cassation. The highest criminal court was emphatic in stating that it would make no sense to convict a crime against the State and allow its economic effects to remain intact.
