Three weeks before the premiere of the reality show, Pepe Ochoa stated on LAM that there would be discontent within the production due to some of the singer's behavior during the long recording sessions
Just three weeks after its arrival on television, Popstars became embroiled in an unexpected controversy behind the scenes. Amid the recordings of the reality show, rumors emerged about alleged conflicts between the production and Ángela Torres, one of the jury members, who was accused of having “diva” attitudes and not wanting to fulfill some tasks planned for the show.
The information was revealed by Pepe Ochoa on LAM (América TV). According to the panelist, during the last few hours he received calls from various people linked to the show who agreed that there would be discontent regarding the artist's behavior.
“What is happening in Popstars right now is that Ángela Torres's diva behavior is very complex. Today my phone rang and more than one person called me about this issue, and one is a person who is there being part of all this,” the journalist began.
The jurors would currently have a good relationship with each other
The journalist assured that the situation would be different with the rest of the figures participating in the program and noted that Torres had chosen to keep her distance during workdays.
“They tell me that everything is fine with Nicki, that everything is fine with Charlie García, that Nico Vázquez is like the dad of the family; but Ángela doesn’t want to mix in. She’s a bit tired of the recording issue,” he detailed.
One of the main points of conflict would be related to the recording dynamics of Popstars. According to what was explained on LAM, in addition to recording each episode, the program members must subsequently perform a series of additional interventions to complete the content.
According to Ochoa, that moment would be one of the most frustrating for Gloria Carrá's daughter. “The thing is this: they record the chapter for about three hours, but then they have to do all the segments. Ángela doesn’t want to, she’s not in the mood,” the panelist assured while describing what the behind-the-scenes days would be like.
Three people have reportedly requested to resign due to the singer's bad behavior
“In fact, today Agus Rey mentioned that Martín Cirio left in a rage and that Valen Rizzuti also resigned from Popstars due to arrangement issues,” he added.
The number of names mentioned immediately provoked a reaction from Ángel de Brito, who joked: “How many important figures are you naming me, all at once.”
