After the victory against Independiente Rivadavia, the midfielder highlighted the message from the interim coach and valued his influence within the locker room
After several weeks marked by inconsistency, Riveris starting to find reasons to look ahead. The 3-1 victory over Independiente Rivadavia at the Monumental not only meant another win in the Torneo Clausura, but also a new boost in the fight to qualify for the next Copa Libertadores through the Annual Table.
One of the standout players of the night was Tomás Galván, who had a decisive role with two goals that sealed the result in favor of a Millonario that celebrated its second win in just a week and regained some of the lost confidence.
After the match, the midfielder revealed that, beyond what happened on the field, there was a specific moment that was important to start reversing the situation. In the mixed zone, Galván shared that Leonardo Ponzio spoke with the team during his first days in charge. "We had a talk with Leo, he told us that we were doing good things, not to stop doing them, and that we needed to correct some others to improve", the player recounted.

The interim coach's message focused, above all, on regaining the calm of a group that had been affected by the results. Ponzio, who knows from the inside what it means to wear the River jersey, avoided major changes and prioritized organizing the team and restoring the players' confidence.
Galván, who had the chance to share the squad with the former midfielder before his retirement, also highlighted the weight of his presence in the locker room. “He was always there day-to-day with us. We know what he represents for the club, so it makes everything a bit easier for us,” he assured.
Ponzio's arrival coincided with an immediate reaction in the results. River first defeated 3-2 Banfield at Florencio Sola and then triumphed over Independiente Rivadavia, with six goals scored in two matches and three conceded.
In this sense, the midfielder particularly valued the impact of these two consecutive victories and emphasized the team's need to celebrate again. "It was something we needed. We always try to move forward, to go for goals, and today fortunately it happened,” he stated.

With the eliminations from the Copa Argentina and the Copa Sudamericana, the local tournament now appears as the only and main objective for the Millonario. The six points obtained in the last two matches allowed them to climb positions in Zone B and sit ninth with 10 points, just one below Independiente Rivadavia, which currently occupies the last playoff qualification spot.
In addition to the regular phase of the Clausura, the Núñez team is also closely watching the Annual Table, where they currently rank 7th with 39 points, 5 behind Vélez, which holds the last direct qualification spot for the Copa Libertadores (3rd), and 6 behind Lepra mendocina, the current leader.
