According to Bazán, the former presidential candidate fears that Camacho's release would reshape the political landscape. "We are facing a coordinated attempt to keep him imprisoned," he stated. Additionally, the senator described it as unacceptable for supposed opposition members to resort to judicial manipulation tactics.

These statements arise following warnings from Chonchocoro prison about operations to prevent Camacho's release. Creemos reported weeks ago an alleged alliance between MAS and "right-wing" actors to block the Santa Cruz leader.

Zvonko Matkovic directly questioned Quiroga's campaign headquarters. "They have publicly requested that Camacho not be released because it would influence the elections," he said. He considered those statements an act of unprecedented political baseness.

He denied the accusations

Branko Marinkovic, campaign chief of Alianza Libre, replied by calling a press conference. He asserted that his words had been distorted and reaffirmed his support for the release of political prisoners. "Camacho, Áñez, Pumari shouldn't spend another day in detention," he said.

However, his previous statements caused confusion. Marinkovic had warned about possible "strange" sentences that would change the electoral landscape.

In an interview, Marinkovic questioned the new judicial magistrates. He said they could "imprison one and release another" for electoral purposes. These words were interpreted as a rejection of a possible release of Camacho.

Erwin Bazán considered those statements direct threats. He indicated that they reflect an attempt to influence judicial decisions from Quiroga's circle.

Tuto would use MAS's methods

Gary Prado, spokesperson for Alianza Unidad, also criticized Marinkovic. He stated that it was a political mistake to address the Camacho issue in the middle of the campaign. "That is a very sensitive issue in Santa Cruz," he pointed out.

He also argued that the statement negatively impacts the opposition electorate. For Prado, no other political prisoner has Camacho's national relevance.

Zvonko Matkovic regretted that actors presenting themselves as "democratic alternatives" resort to MAS-style practices. He accused sectors close to Tuto Quiroga of repeating the authoritarian methods of the past. "One can't speak of democracy if judges are pressured," he said.

He called for respect for the independence of the Judicial Branch. He demanded that Camacho be allowed to exercise his right to defend himself in freedom.

Meanwhile, Marinkovic reported that he had also received threats. He stated that there is a campaign to divert public attention. "They seek to release Evo while distracting with other minor issues," he said.

In his view, the judicial system remains captured by political interests. He criticized the magistrates and called for a complete reform of the judicial apparatus.

The Libre candidate denied being against Camacho's release. He said his statements had been misinterpreted and taken out of context. "I regret that there is an attempt to deceive the public," he stated.

He also insisted that his proposal is to end judicial manipulation. He assured that his campaign will remain focused on proposals and not on internal conflicts.

Camacho's release would cost Tuto votes

However, Creemos keeps the accusation against Quiroga's circle. They claim that pressure on judges is not just a verbal slip. Zvonko Matkovic reiterated that there are interests from "both sides" that do not want to see Camacho free.

He accused those sectors of fearing a strong candidacy from the Santa Cruz governor. "For some, it is more convenient to keep him imprisoned than to face him at the polls," he concluded.

The tension among opposition members reflects an internal fracture ahead of the elections. While some demand unity, others intensify cross-attacks.

The Camacho case has become the axis of this conflict. Citizens watch these confrontations with distrust. Several analysts warn that this type of dispute benefits MAS.

Finally, Creemos called on the magistrates to act with transparency and without fear. They requested that the requests for defense in freedom be solved once and for all. "Camacho can't be kept detained for political calculations," Bazán said.
