In a dramatic and unusual testimony before Congress, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett, exposed the extremism of the left by recounting the moment she had to explain to her 12-year-old son why she was bringing home a bulletproof vest to protect herself from death threats.
The judge, nominated to the highest court by Donald Trump in 2020, stated that the wave of threats from the left "has forced my children to think and see things that children should not have to see or think about." She made this statement while testifying at a hearing aimed at discussing the increase in the Court's budget for fiscal year 2027, which includes an increase in security funds to protect judges.
Barrett was the victim of a swatting incident (a false emergency report to mobilize the police) at her home in Virginia earlier this year, and recalled how one day she was forced to bring home a bulletproof vest, an event that her son experienced firsthand.
"I didn't know how to respond because maybe I'm lacking imagination, but I didn't expect that fulfilling this service would put me in the position of having to explain to my children what a bulletproof vest was and why I had to wear it," the jurist confessed to lawmakers.
