New details of Obama's right-hand man meeting with the top Catholic representative have emerged in recent hours.

Pope Leo XIV received David Axelrod last Thursday, April 9, at a private meeting at the Vatican. This discreet, closed-door meeting led many to wonder if the pontiff could soon have a formal meeting with former U.S. President Barack Obama.

In fact, while the Vatican did not provide details about Axelrod's meeting with Leon last Thursday, six weeks ago Obama made it clear that he would like to meet the new pope. “As president, or even former president, I can know almost everyone. I've met a lot of people. The person I haven't met yet, and who I really want to meet - and I hope to have the opportunity sometime in the future - is the new pope, who is from Chicago and a fan of the White Sox,” said the former

Democratic president.

In the days following this meeting, the pope's criticism of President Donald Trump became sharper, to which Trump, true to his style, responded by pointing out the pontiff's inconsistencies regarding the war in Iran and the nuclear ambitions of the Islamic regime.

Many believe that Axelrod is the one who is operating within the Catholic Church to turn it against the current president.

, who has not shared details of his meeting with the pope, is considered Obama's political guru and within the Democratic Party he is credited with being the main architect of the former president's campaign successes, including presidential victories in 2008 and 2012 against Republicans John McCain and Mitt

Romney respectively.

Christopher Hale, who is writing a book about the pope and American politics, said that all signs point to the fact that the rumor of León's meeting with Obama and the growing papal criticism of Trump are thanks to Axelrod's work. “It's a surprise. Obviously, [Axelrod] is not someone you would expect to meet with Pope Leo XIV,” Hale said. “We're not 100 percent sure it's connected to that, but the timing is right.”

A day after meeting with Obama's advisor, the Pope made an anti-war statement addressed to the Trump administration. To top it off, on Sunday, April 12, three of the cardinals of the American Catholic Church most aligned with the Democratic Party appeared on a television program to demonstrate against the war with Iran and to defend the permanence of illegal aliens in the United States and to oppose their deportation.

If we add to this that the Vatican has already indicated that it is unlikely that the pope will visit the United States in 2026 because it is an election year, and that in November the governor of Illinois, Democrat JB Pritzker, traveled to the Holy See to meet with León, it can undoubtedly be concluded that there is a political operation underway to provoke a confrontation between the Vatican and the White House and that Obama's right hand is behind this.
