Corie Walsh, a 38-year-old mother from Illinois obsessed with the case of the killer Lindsay Clancy, hanged her 2-year-old son this week, considering him "the antichrist" and was charged with first-degree murder.
According to authorities, some neighbors found Walsh's son, Barrett, hanging from the beams in the family's basement and alerted the police. Despite efforts to save him, doctors pronounced the little boy dead at the scene. A subsequent autopsy confirmed that the victim died of asphyxiation.
Walsh, who was found lying in a bathtub, fully dressed and soaked in blood, confessed to investigators that she killed her son for being "the antichrist" and "the devil". She was hospitalized after police determined she had attempted self-harm. Once she is discharged, she will be charged with three counts of murder and transferred to a women's general prison.
