In that publication, the agency stated that Morzetta had participated in four federal elections despite not being a U.S. citizen.
ICE presented the incident as a case of deliberate electoral fraud and distinguished that behavior from a simple administrative error.
In its statement, it asserted: "Voting illegally is NOT a paperwork error when someone casts a vote consciously and deliberately knowing that it is prohibited".
Furthermore, the agency linked the enforcement of electoral laws with the protection of the transparency of the elections and the right of U.S. citizens to participate in legitimate elections.
"U.S. citizens deserve FAIR and HONEST elections, and the Trump administration is committed to protecting their integrity", ICE added in the same message.
With the elections underway, the immigration agency again used its social media to convey a strong message about the restrictions on voting by foreigners.
