President Donald Trump supported South Carolina Republican Senator Darline Graham Nordone this Friday to run for a full six-year term and thus continue honoring the legacy of her brother Lindsey Graham, who unexpectedly passed away last weekend.
"Darline, who comes from an absolutely incredible family, has been a WINNER her whole life and, if she accepts, has my Total and Absolute Support in the Special Election for the U.S. Senate in South Carolina. SHE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN," expressed the Republican leader on his social media.
It is worth noting that this week South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster appointed Darline to complete her brother's term, which had six months left in office and who was already running for reelection in November after winning the Republican primary in the state a few weeks ago. Nordone hinted that she is considering running for the full term.

"It was an honor to welcome now-Senator Darline Graham Nordone (the sister of the great and remembered Lindsey Graham!) to the Oval Office, from the wonderful state of South Carolina," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "We have known each other for a long time: she is a spectacular person and a true American patriot."
"Lindsey was one of the best people and senators I ever knew, and his sister shares his deep love for our country and for the state of South Carolina," he added. "During her visit, I asked Darline, for the good of our nation, to run for the U.S. Senate in the special Republican primary on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. I hope she does, as there would be no one better to honor the legacy of her beloved brother, Lindsey," he concluded.
