President Donald Trump suggested this Wednesday at the G7 summit that he could recover the military equipment that the armed forces of the United States left behind during the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan ordered by former Democratic President Joe Biden in 2021.
The president harshly criticized the foreign policy of his successor and predecessor in office, emphasizing that Biden decided to leave behind in Afghanistan dozens of military aircraft, thousands of ground vehicles, and more than 300,000 weapons that are now in the hands of the Taliban terrorists.
"Our country has become the most respected in the world", Trump stated. "Look at what happened in so many different places. Afghanistan, that horrible withdrawal that this people did. Leaving equipment behind. They were under no pressure. Take your time."
"I was going to leave," the Republican noted. "We were going to leave with dignity and pride. Taking 100% of the equipment. I was even going to dismantle the tents. But then [Biden] came in and they just left. They left all the equipment. I might recover all that equipment. Now, this is the point: it's more symbolic because it's already a bit old, but we might recover it all. Afghanistan is kissing our tr...", Trump explained.
