The highest court allowed the continued application of indiscriminate and uncontrolled mail-in voting in the November legislative elections

The president Donald Trump exploded this Tuesday against the Supreme Court justices who blocked the implementation of new rules regulating mail-in voting and ensuring that the November legislative elections would be safer.

"These are not the people I interviewed to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States, they are merely a shadow of what they used to be," Trump said about justices Amy Coney Barrett, Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Kavanaugh, nominated to the high court during his first term. "This Supreme Court is intimidated and flattered by the Radical Left to make decisions that have set the United States back at least a hundred years," he added.

Trump continued to assert that "certain judges are terrified of these deranged and depraved Democrats, and are completely incapable of showing the necessary courage to save our United States." Meanwhile, the president praised justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito, who once again stood on the right side of history and supported the White House's electoral reform.

Trump signed an executive order in March asking the U.S. Postal Service to exercise greater control over the mail-in ballots it distributes to the states. The new regulations required states to adopt a uniform envelope style for mail-in ballots and to present a list of eligible voters. Twenty-four states and the government of Washington DC, territories controlled by Democrats, opposed and litigated the measure.

For the judges who rejected the presidential decree, there is a short window of time to implement the rules before the legislative elections on November 3. "In my view, based on the arguments the Court has received at this provisional stage, there is at least a reasonable prospect that the final rule falls within the statutory authority of the Postal Service," Justice Kavanaugh wrote.

"But applying the rule in the 2026 elections would be arbitrary and capricious, in violation of the Administrative Procedure Act, because state and local election officials do not have enough time to reasonably implement the rule before the elections," he added.
