The Government of Donald Trump expressed its support for the joint work agenda announced by the interim regime of Venezuela and the opposition, in an official statement that highlights the progress of the political transition and the effort to recover democracy in the country.
Through a statement, the Department of State noted that "the United States welcomes the announcements made on Tuesday by the 2015 National Assembly of Venezuela, chaired by Dinorah Figuera, and by the Venezuelan interim government, which presents a joint agenda that will come into effect on August 1 to promote stability, democracy, and national recovery in Venezuela".
The declaration comes after the Venezuelan regime confirmed the start of a bilateral agenda aimed at strengthening democratic institutions, improving the electoral system, and restoring guarantees for political participation. According to the agreement, the working groups will formally begin on August 1.

In its positioning, Washington emphasized the importance of the understanding reached and linked it to previous dialogue instances: "This announcement represents an important step forward in the political reconciliation process and is based on the meeting held on June 18 between the representatives. We applaud the commitment to strengthen democratic institutions, improve the electoral system, and restore guarantees for political participation".
