The Argentine Government came out to respond to the Russian embassy after it denied the existence of a disinformation campaign against President Javier Milei. The answer was given by Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno, who confirmed that the case is already under analysis by the Argentine Justice

.

The statement comes in the midst of the scandal generated by the international investigation that revealed a network of operations promoted from Russia to influence local public opinion and discredit the Government. Faced with this, the Russian embassy sought to delegitimize the report and assured that there is no evidence to support the accusations

Through a statement released on Telegram, the diplomatic representation maintained that the reports are part of “anti-Russian” materials and described the investigation as an “artificially inflated” story, insisting that no concrete evidence was presented. In addition, he regretted what he considered an attempt to cloud bilateral relations

between the two countries.

This is not the first time that Russia has taken this position. In June 2025, the embassy had already rejected similar accusations and denied any type of link with an alleged network of influence in Argentina, stating that its role is limited to strengthening cooperation between the two countries

Quirno pointed out that the above-mentioned facts are being analyzed by the Justice, which will be responsible for determining responsibilities within the framework of the rule of law. In addition, he stressed that the Executive is following the issue carefully and reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and

legality.

The existing elements are sufficient for the case to move forward in the judicial sphere. This would imply that the discussion would leave the media sphere to move fully to the

institutional field.

The original research argues that a structure linked to Russian interests would have allocated hundreds of thousands of dollars to install content in Argentine media, many of them critical of the Government and aligned with narratives

contrary to its foreign policy.

For now, the case is still open. But with the intervention of Justice and the official confirmation of the Government, the episode ceases to be an isolated journalistic complaint and is consolidated as a topic of institutional relevance, with a direct impact on security and bilateral relations

between countries.
