The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), together with the Shin Bet intelligence service, confirmed the elimination of Muhammad Abu Shahla.

The terrorist was serving as military intelligence commander of the Khan Yunis Brigade of the Hamas group.

The operation was carried out in the Gaza Strip using a precision attack.

A key objective linked to the October 7 attack

According to Israel, Abu Shahla played an important role in planning the massacre of October 7

, 2023.

That attack left more than 1,200 dead, hundreds kidnapped and thousands injured, marking one of the most serious episodes in the country's recent history.

The Israeli authorities consider him a central actor within the operational structure of Hamas.

Precision attack to avoid collateral damage

The operation was carried out with prior intelligence, aerial surveillance and precision weapons

The IDF pointed out that the objective was to neutralize an immediate threat while minimizing the impact on the civilian population.
