The death of Ángel López, the 4-year-old boy who died in Comodoro Rivadavia, continues to add elements that aggravate the situation and deepen the responsibilities surrounding his environment and previous judicial decisions. In the last few hours, a school report incorporated into the cause provided a key fact: the minor had shown obvious signs of distress and emotional disturbances weeks before
his death.
The document was written by teacher Sandra Jaramillo, from Kindergarten No. 413, who accompanied the child during the 2025 school year. It describes abrupt changes in her behavior after hearing the court decision that granted possession to her mother, Mariela Altamirano, who is now under arrest and under investigation with her partner. According to the report, the child - who usually entered “with a smile” and whose hugs “brightened the day” - began to show

On November 7, in particular, he was “exalted, angry, screaming, distressed”, in a marked contrast to his usual attitude in the classroom. The teacher also explained that Ángel used to enjoy activities such as painting and drawing, representing his family - “mom, dad and me” -, but on that day he expressed an unusual rejection. In contrast, the report highlights the active role of the father, Luis López, and his partner, Lorena Andrade, who, according to the teacher, “were always present in all activities” and maintained an obvious emotional bond with the child. “He would run to hug them when he saw them coming,” said the document, which describes Ángel as “a very happy boy with his family” before the change of custody. This testimony, incorporated into the case, takes on special relevance as it suggests that there were previous signs that might not have been properly considered by the

In parallel, the autopsy results confirmed an even more serious scenario. The experts detected more than 20 brain injuries, including subarachnoid hemorrhage, diffuse cerebral edema and brain herniation, in addition to at least 21 bruises on the scalp, compatible with head injuries.
Based on these findings, prosecutors Facundo Oribones and Diana Florencia Guzmán requested the arrest of Mariela Altamirano and Michel Kevin González, mother and stepfather of the minor, who are already under preventive detention for a period of six months while the investigation for alleged aggravated homicide progresses.
