A new national survey revealed that President Javier Milei maintains a strong electoral advantage ahead of the 2027 elections.

According to a study by Opinaia, the libertarian president comfortably leads both a first-round scenario with the 2023 candidates and a possible ballot against the ultra-Kirchnerist governor Axel Kicillof.

The study, carried out between March 3 and 4 on a national sample of 1,000 cases and with a margin of error of +/- 3%, is part of the report called “Citizen Thermometer”.

According to the survey, “the official leadership is consolidated in a fragmented opposition scenario. LLA maintains the highest electoral ceiling (56%) and is slightly better than the previous measurement. In the opposition, CFK and A. Kicillof maintain similar levels of positive image, without the emergence of a clear leadership capable of ordering

space”.

Milei leads a hypothetical first round

One of the central sections of the poll analyzes how Argentines would vote today if the first presidential round of 2023 were repeated with the same candidates.

In this scenario, the results mark a significant change compared to the last election

.

While in October 2023 the then official candidate Sergio Massa had won with around 37% compared to 30% of Milei, the new survey places the current President clearly in the lead.

According to the survey, Milei would achieve 42% of voting intention, while Massa would obtain 21%.

The difference is wide enough to place the libertarian leader as the winner even without the need for a second round.

Ample advantage over Kicillof in a possible ballot

The study also analyzes the scenario that several analysts consider the possible duel of Argentine politics in the coming year: a ballot

between Milei

and Kicillof.

The results once again show a clear advantage of the current president. According to the poll, Milei would get 50% of the votes compared to 30% for the Kirchner governor, while 20% remain undecided

.

The report also details how this advantage is distributed across different segments of society. According to the data, Milei prevails in all the cuts analyzed

.

Among men, the difference is even greater, with a result of 57% versus 31%. The largest distance recorded in the study was observed in the age group of people over 61 years of age, with 71% compared to 22%

.

In terms of socioeconomic status, the president also clearly leads among the highest-income sectors, where he obtains 56% compared to 28% for his possible rival.

In this way, the survey shows that, regardless of what the opposition is trying to install, Javier Milei's electoral leadership remains firm and has a significant advantage over his opponents.
