Amid the strong disinformation campaign and false accusations of racism directed against Argentina and the national team following the 2026 World Cup, an incident that occurred on a streaming program generated strong backlash on social media after an ultra Kirchnerist activist called for the assassination of President Javier Milei.
During a broadcast of the streaming show Gelatina, panelist Lía Copello made a direct threat against the president, in an exchange that took place while host Pedro Rosemblat was reflecting on the political climate following the international tournament.
The context of the debate was marked by a massive disinformation campaign against the country, in a scenario where various sectors began to highlight the growing internal unity in the face of hatred fueled from abroad.
In that context, Rosemblat posed the question on air: “Didn’t this unite us a bit?”. Copello's reprehensible response was: “We need to unite to hang Milei in Plaza de Mayo, that’s my line.”
The phrase, which constitutes an explicit threat against the head of state, was not met with immediate condemnation on the program, which amplified the impact of the statement once the clip began circulating on social media.
Minutes later, Rosemblat himself expressed a stance that contrasted with his colleague's, stating: “I am more with Milei than with the king of Spain,” referring to the final match between Argentina and Spain.

His comment was part of a line of support for the country in the face of international criticism, in an attempt to emphasize the need to prioritize Argentina's unity in the global context.
Despite the seriousness of the threat, the incident did not initially generate a strong media uproar, partly overshadowed by Rosemblat's positioning in defense of the country and Milei against external accusations.
However, as hours passed, the situation escalated on social media, where thousands of users began to demand measures against Copello and that she be removed from the streaming Gelatina, following the unacceptable incitement to violence against a sitting president.
