Nintendo made a surprise Direct and confirmed the return of one of its most historic franchises. The company announced a new Star Fox for Switch 2, scheduled for release on June 25.
The game will be a reinterpretation of Star Fox 64, with completely renewed graphics, playable improvements and new content. The announcement took fans by surprise because there was no officially scheduled Nintendo Direct.

According to Nintendo, the new Star Fox will maintain the level design of the classic Nintendo 64, but will add a major visual update and new features adapted to
the power of Switch 2.
Among the confirmed novelties are a prologue mission starring Fox's father McCloud, new cinematic scenes and a challenge mode.
In addition, the game will include online multiplayer modes, 4 vs 4 combat and GameChat support with interactive avatars that will replicate players' expressions and movements during games.
