The Argentine ambassador to Israel, Axel Wahnish, confirmed that tickets for the new direct route between Buenos Aires and Tel Aviv, operated by the airline El Al, are now on sale.
The flights will start on November 29 and will have two weekly frequencies: Sunday and Tuesday from Tel Aviv to Buenos Aires, and Monday and Wednesday in the opposite direction.
“After two years of intense work and bilateral coordination, we see a long-awaited project coming to fruition that brings our peoples closer than ever before,” Wahnish said in his X account, also stressing that this new connection will make it possible to advance trade, investment, tourism and academic and scientific exchange.

The announcement had been anticipated by President Javier Milei during his official visit to Jerusalem, after meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
.
On that occasion, Milei stressed the strategic importance of the agreement: “Starting in November, the first direct air route in history between Buenos Aires and Tel Aviv will start operating and our nations will be closer than ever.”
From Israel, they also welcomed the initiative. Netanyahu emphasized the strengthening of the bilateral link and said: “We have no better allies in the world than the United States and the great democracy of Argentina,” in a sign of the strong political and diplomatic alignment between the

In practical terms, the new route represents a substantial change for travelers. Currently, flights between the two destinations can exceed 22 hours with stops, but with this direct service the time will be reduced to approximately 15 or 16 hours
.
Regarding prices, the Israeli airline confirmed that the initial values will start at 1,349 dollars round trip in economy class, while market estimates place the general range between 1,300 and 1,600 dollars, below the current values with stops.
In addition, this new route will become the longest in El Al's entire international network, reflecting the strategic importance that the company attaches to Argentina in its global expansion.
The implementation of this direct route not only improves connectivity, but is also part of a context of growing political and economic rapprochement between the Government of Milei and Netanyahu.
