Following the historic endorsement from the President of the United States, Donald Trump, the candidate from Defenders of the Homeland, Abelardo de la Espriella, has issued a vigorous official statement reaffirming his unwavering commitment to freedom and transnational security.
The statement from De la Espriella, shared via the social network X, not only celebrates the support from the American leader but also establishes a shared roadmap to rescue Colombia from the shadow of the officialdom led by Iván Cepeda, whom the right labels as a communist puppet and representative of radical left.
In his message, “The Tiger” —a nickname also used by Trump— was emphatic in highlighting the spiritual and patriotic dimension of his mission: “Freedom in the Americas needs strong, determined, independent, brave, patriotic leadership. You and I will share a responsibility granted to us by God and the People: to combat the radical left that seeks to destroy the values upon which our Nations rest”.

Finally, in an imperative of National Salvation, the letter underscores the urgency of preventing Colombia from falling definitively into the “narcotyranny of Gustavo Petro” represented by the “communist puppet” Iván Cepeda, a model of radical left that the candidate promises to dismantle through the firm exercise of the rule of law and under the triumphant slogan of “Let’s make Colombia great again.
