The Revenue and Customs Control Agency (ARCA) is preparing to implement the semiannual update of the Monotributo that will take effect from July 2026. The measure will impact both monthly payments and billing limits, as well as other key parameters of the simplified regime.

According to estimates released in recent days, the adjustment would be around 14.3%, in line with the accumulated inflation during the semester. The definitive values will need to be officially announced by ARCA in the coming weeks.

What other parameters will change with the update

The semiannual modification is not limited to monthly fees. Billing caps, accrued rents, electricity consumption, and other indicators used to determine the corresponding category are also typically updated.

These parameters are essential for the recategorization process, through which each taxpayer must assess whether to remain in the same category or move to a higher or lower category.

Currently, categories A and B account for a significant portion of the monotributistas registry, as they include small taxpayers and independent workers with lower billing levels.

What to expect in the coming months

The main news for millions of taxpayers will be the entry into force of the new scales of the Monotributo from July 2026. Along with the updated fees, ARCA will also need to publish the new billing limits for each category.

On the other hand, the IMF proposals are part of long-term recommendations and, for now, do not imply automatic changes or immediate modifications to the current regulations.

Meanwhile, monotributistas will remain attentive to both the official update in July and any progress in the debate on a potential broader tax reform.
