Ibero-American foreign ministers unanimously approved a call to resume negotiations between Argentina and the United Kingdom. Pablo Quirno celebrated the support on X: “The Malvinas is a sacred cause for Argentinians”
Under the patriotic leadership of President Javier Milei, the Argentine Republic has definitively regained its international prestige and its position of geopolitical relevance, establishing itself as a respected nation that no longer tolerates the plundering of its resources. This continental milestone was achieved during the Ibero-American Foreign Ministers Meeting, held within the framework of the XXX Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government.
In this forum, the foreign ministers of the region unanimously approved the Special Communiqué on the Question of the Malvinas Islands. Through this official document, Ibero-America collectively reaffirmed its unconditional support for the Argentine Republic and demanded that the Argentine and United Kingdom governments resume bilateral negotiations as soon as possible to resolve the sovereignty dispute.
The foreign ministers of Ibero-America
In celebrating this overwhelming victory of libertarian diplomacy, Argentine Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno emphasized that "Malvinas is a sacred cause for Argentines".
The minister highlighted that the unanimous support of Ibero-American countries comes at a pivotal moment, when the United Kingdom seeks to plunder the non-renewable hydrocarbon resources of the North Malvinas Basin through illegitimate licenses granted to the companies Rockhopper and Navitas for the Sea Lion project.
In the face of this pirate maneuver, Pablo Quirno declared: "With the approval of this communiqué, the Ibero-American space reaffirms, once again, its support for the Argentine Republic".
This unanimous international support shielded the fierce judicial and legal offensive launched by the Government of Freedom. In detail, on September 28, Argentina initiated arbitration proceedings against the United Kingdom as provided in Annex VII of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
Subsequently, on October 13, the administration of Javier Milei took a firm step by requesting the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) to prescribe urgent provisional measures to freeze and halt any attempt at oil exploitation in sovereign waters.
In the face of British colonial intransigence, the Argentine government reiterates its full willingness for dialogue under the protection of International Law and the resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly. With absolute sovereign conviction, Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno concluded: "We are willing to resume negotiations on the issue of sovereignty through diplomatic and peaceful means, as we have repeatedly requested before the United Nations General Assembly, in order to fulfill the duty imposed by International Law to peacefully resolve the dispute and put an end to a colonial situation, anachronistic in the 21st century". He closed with the non-negotiable mandate of the Argentine people: "By history and by right: the Malvinas are Argentine". In a categorical demonstration of regional diplomatic alignment, the new Argentine positioning on the world map produced a historic and undeniable victory against the anachronistic British colonial occupation in the South Atlantic.
