President Javier Milei sent a message to Pope Leo XIV just days before his arrival in Argentina, expressing his hope that the visit will carry a message of peace for the population.
The president responded to the Pontiff's post on the social network X, where he confirmed that next Friday he will begin a tour of South America that will include Uruguay, Argentina, and Peru.
“Your Holiness, Argentina awaits you with great joy,” Milei wrote. In the same message, he added: “It will be a great honor to welcome you to our land. May your visit strengthen faith, renew hope, and bring a message of peace to all Argentinians.”

The President concluded his post with a welcome directed at the head of the Catholic Church: “We await you, Holy Father!”.
For his part, Leo XIV had announced the start of his regional tour and requested spiritual support for the planned activities in the three countries. “Next Friday I will depart for South America to visit Uruguay, Argentina, and Peru,” he posted on his Spanish account on X.
Additionally, he asked for prayers that the trip “strengthens faith, renews hope, rekindles the fire of charity, and serves as an impetus to continue proclaiming the Gospel with joy.”
