The Supreme Court of Brazil prohibited Flávio Bolsonaro from visiting his father, former president Jair Bolsonaro, for the next 90 days, a measure that will extend until after the first round of the presidential elections on October 4 and once again places the highest court at the center of the political campaign for Lula da Silva's reelection.
The decision was made by communist judge Alexandre de Moraes after Flávio publicly disseminated a handwritten letter that Jair had given him during a visit. In the message, addressed “to the Brazilians,” the former president endorsed his son's presidential candidacy and urged his supporters to remain united behind his nomination.

Flávio read the letter during a YouTube broadcast, an action that Moraes interpreted as a violation of the restrictions preventing Jair from expressing himself on social media, even through third parties. In addition to suspending visits, the communist supreme court granted 48 hours to the former president's defense to explain the alleged disobedience.
The judge also requested that the Electoral Justice investigate whether the dissemination of the text could be considered early propaganda, given that the formal campaign has not yet begun. Thus, a letter of political support ended up leading to a new judicial persecution against the Bolsonaro family and the Brazilian right.
