Elon Musk destroyed the movie director: "Nolan desecrated The Odyssey to make it eligible for an Academy Award."

In the context where director Christopher Nolan has decided to trample on the legacy of Homer to kneel before the forced diversity quotas of the Academy, mogul Elon Musk has once again raised his voice against what he considers a creative decline in Hollywood. The tech entrepreneur has been blunt in stating that Nolan has sacrificed his “artistic integrity” to align with the progressive standards that currently govern the film industry.

According to Musk, this maneuver has a single and cynical objective: “He wants the awards”. The founder of SpaceX argues that the filmmaker has decided to “trample on Homer’s grave” with casting choices that challenge not only narrative logic but the very description of Greek myths.

The focus of the outrage from Musk and broad sectors that reject gender ideology and racial swapping mainly falls on the choice of Lupita Nyong'o to portray Helen of Troy —historically described by the poet as having “fair skin, blonde” and possessing the “face that launched a thousand ships”— and her sister Clytemnestra.

The confirmation of this dual role by Time magazine sparked a wave of criticism led by analyst Matt Walsh, who declared: “Not a single person on the planet really thinks Lupita Nyong'o is 'the most beautiful woman in the world'”, also labeling Nolan as “cowardly” for not daring to hire a white woman for the role for fear of being labeled racist. In response to this emphatic statement, Elon Musk validated the argument with a succinct but powerful: “It’s true”.

The controversy deepens with the inclusion of Elliot Page, a transgender actor, in the role of the legendary warrior Achilles. Various sources and social media users, backed by Musk's interactions, have labeled it an “insult” that a biological female figure represents the pinnacle of masculinity and Greek heroism.

For critics, this decision is the definitive proof that “Nolan desecrated The Odyssey to make it eligible for an Academy award”, referring to the strict inclusion criteria established in 2020 that require productions to meet diversity quotas to qualify for the Best Picture category.

Despite having a massive budget and a cast of top-tier figures like Matt Damon (in the role of Odysseus), Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, and Charlize Theron, the film carries the stigma of being a product designed for social engineering rather than for artistic delight. While traditional critics attempt to defend these decisions under the guise of "talent," voices like Alice Smith warn that directors are swapping races of historically white characters simply to meet bureaucratic objectives of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

With a premiere scheduled for July 17, The Odyssey by Christopher Nolan is shaping up to be the next major battleground in the cultural war. While the Hollywood system applauds the subversion of the classics, figures like Elon Musk remind the public that true beauty and art cannot be dictated by ideological decrees or the pursuit of validation on red carpets.
