Emilia Attias and Turco Naim ended their relationship in mid-2024, after nearly twenty years together and with a daughter in common. After several months of rumors about a crisis, the actress decided to break the silence and clearly explain the reasons that led her to take that step.
In a conversation with Nacho Elizalde for the Hispa streaming, Attias reviewed the process the couple went through. She mentioned that the end was not something sudden, but rather the result of a wear and tear that accumulated over time. “It was a process, that day came much later,” she recounted, making it clear that the breakup was gradually developing.
The actress acknowledged that the differences with Naim became increasingly evident. She explained that both started to notice that the other did not fully understand their needs. “You find that your needs are not understood by the other person. I’m not condemning him for that because I think he had every intention of wanting to understand me and couldn’t, and he made claims that I also couldn’t understand,” she said sincerely.
Attias admitted that she tried to maintain the relationship for years. She pointed out that he hoped the difficult moment would pass, while she kept giving him time over and over again. “Some of that was happening, but he was waiting for the moment to pass. I gave a lot of time to that and I’m not someone who takes those things lightly. I gave him years,” she confessed.

Her daughter's perspective as a turning point
One of the determining factors for the separation was the presence of their daughter. Attias shared that the little girl was a constant witness to the dynamics between her parents, which forced her to reflect on the example she was setting. It was not about staying for her, but rather the opposite.
“I had a daughter who was watching us. For me, my daughter was the opposite, it wasn’t ‘I’m not separating for her.’ She was seeing that dynamic of distant, angry parents all the time,” the actress expressed. The situation led her to think about what image of love she was transmitting.
Attias emphasized that she did not want her daughter to grow up believing that a relationship is based on fights and distance. She explained that both continued to choose to stay despite the fact that the bond was no longer harmonious, and that could create an unnecessary burden on the little girl. “I said: I can’t show her that this is love. Fighting, maybe there are exchanges of grievances. A relationship that was not harmonious and that we both were choosing to stay in. Imagine if she thinks we stayed for her, the burden that is,” she concluded.
Emilia Attias's confession highlights how daily wear and the perspective of a daughter can become the definitive push to close a cycle. The decision was not easy, but she prioritized the example she wanted to set for her daughter over maintaining a relationship that no longer worked.
