The Government of Javier Milei is considering the possibility of declaring a national holiday in the event that the Argentine National Team becomes world champion again, as part of the preparations for the team's return to the country.

According to reports, the decision will depend on the outcome of the match and the schedule established for the team's return.

The discussion has taken place in the offices of the Casa Rosada in recent days, while various areas of the Executive are advancing in planning measures related to the massive mobilization that could be generated by the arrival of the team led by Lionel Scaloni.

Although it is not a usual decision in the administration, sources close to President Javier Milei assure that this is considered an exceptional scenario.

In this context, those who speak with the president maintain that there is a willingness to move forward with the measure in the event of a championship win. However, they emphasize that there will be no prior announcements and that any determination will be made once the match is over and with precise information about the return operation.

Meanwhile, the Government is also evaluating alternatives of lesser scope. By the end of the week, the Casa Rosada indicated that they are studying the possibility of granting an administrative leave for the day when the mobilizations to welcome the National Team take place.

The measure would primarily target personnel working in offices in downtown Buenos Aires, where a high concentration of people is expected.

As explained, circulation in that area could be seriously affected by the magnitude of the gathering, which would complicate the usual commute for employees. In this regard, the leave appears as an intermediate option compared to the alternative of a national holiday.

The organization of the security operation is also part of the official agenda. The Ministry of National Security, led by Alejandra Monteoliva, is already holding meetings with the Federal Forces, the Military House, and city authorities to coordinate the necessary measures.

For now, there is no confirmation on how the celebration will take place or the itinerary of the team. Authorities are working on various possible scenarios and will adjust measures based on the decisions made by Lionel Messi, the AFA, and the rest of the team.

In this context, the eventual declaration of a national holiday appears as a concrete possibility, although conditioned by the sports outcome and the logistics of the National Team's return.
