The Knowledge Economy reached a historic record in Argentina under Javier Milei and. According to Argencon, the entity that groups the main companies in the sector, between April 2025 and March 2026, Knowledge-Based Services totaled US$ 10.085 billion in foreign sales.

This figure represents an annual growth of 11.7% and consolidates the sector as the third largest exporting complex in the country, behind agriculture and energy. The country has once again demonstrated that it can also generate foreign currency by selling talent, innovation, software, professional services, and intellectual work to the world, without the need to resort to artificial industries from the last century.

The record surpasses the previous mark of US$ 9.685 billion recorded between July 2024 and June 2025, and confirms a trajectory of sustained expansion that has been developing for over two decades. According to the data cited by Argencon, knowledge-based services represented 53% of the total service exports during 2025.

The main driver of growth was Professional Services, which include activities such as accounting, engineering, design, marketing, and legal services provided from Argentina to international clients. This segment reached nearly US$ 6.5 billion and accounted for 63.7% of the total exported by the Knowledge Economy.

In second place were IT Services, which encompass software development, programming, video games, and technological support. This sector is close to surpassing US$ 3 billion in exports and continues to consolidate as one of the verticals with the greatest potential within the sector.

According to Argencon, Argentina leads Latin America in exports of knowledge-based services and doubles Colombia, its main regional competitor, in volume. Additionally, the local growth of 11.7% was above the progress recorded in South America and the Caribbean.

Sebastián Mocorrea, president of Argencon, stated that surpassing US$ 10 billion confirms Argentina's ability to compete globally based on talent, innovation, and the quality of its human resources. He also emphasized that the expansion of generative artificial intelligence presents challenges but also concrete opportunities for the country.

According to official figures from the Ministry of Economy, the sector employs more than 285,000 people in formal positions, with 9,000 more jobs than the previous year and 17,000 more than in 2023. Furthermore, international companies like Beyond and JPMorgan are advancing with hiring plans in the country, especially in areas related to artificial intelligence, automation, technological development, and data analysis.
